Excellent view from here if there is no mist... can either sit in car or go for a walk bit cold tonight and starting to rain
Absolutely awesome 360 views. Towards Montrose and the coast one way and the Cairngorms in the other.
Parking at the summit as the B974 runs directly past it.
The summit is 30 seconds from the carpark.
Extensive views of the surrounding area, large areas of Aberdeen.
View of the coast and the North Sea on a clear day. If you are looking you can have a cloud inversion.
A place worth stopping to admire the view back south over the Mearns and east to the coast with Montrose and Arbroath in the distance. When the wind is from the south east this is a popular spot with parasailers and model plane glider pilots enjoying the uplift.
Why are there not 6 stars to rate this place, if you can't climb a hill but want to experience amazing views of Aberdeenshire and Angus this is a fantastic place to stop when the view is clear.
The road is a challenging drive but fun, I'm not a motorcyclist but I would imagine it would be a great terrain to experience on one, also it looks very popular for cyclists.
This is a road you should put in your bucket list
Amazing Scottish countryside, great for driving through or cycling ( wouldn't recommend if you are a novice on a bike as the hills are murder). Plenty of view points for photos. This road can be treacherous in the winter, so check weatger report before driving up knto the snow.
Great route if travelling from the Dundee area or similar - worth the slight detour. It's not the west coast, but you experience the highlands without having to put on any boots. If you are doing a whistle stop your of the East coast, this is worth a stop by.
Two areas to park, stunning 360 views..
